Gemfields' VOID exhibition offers a different perspective on precious gemstones in a multi-sensory setting that shares large-scale projections inside gemstones. Gemields created the installation for the London Design Festival 2019 in partnership with designer Dan Tobin Smith and The Experience Machine, which brings Mozambican rubies and Zambian emeralds from Gemfields mines to life.
By magnifying the surface of gemstones, the exhibition creates "abstract, galaxy-like structures" that seem both familiar and foreign, blurring the lines between art, design and the natural world.
