A striking, forested concrete home was built by local architect Luciano Basso in southern Brazil. Occupying a site, nearby a mature Paraná pine tree, the structure offers an interesting juxtaposition with the surrounding lush vegetation. While the concrete and straight lines that Luciano Basso prioritized in his design evoke a well-defined brutalist aesthetic, the flora and fauna contribute with a softer sensibility.
Concrete is also utilized as a material on the inside of the house. The interior, for example, boasts a concrete staircase. Luciano Basso created an open-space concept for the forested concrete home, giving some breathing air in the design. The architect also incorporated sizable, floor-to-ceiling windows that are also quite wide. This enabled him to open up the design and maximize views of the outside.
