Finnair Airline is rolling out a new social media-inspired service whereby you can choose your seat mate by having a nosey at their Facebook profile first. If you’re a frequent flier and need to make regular business trips, then this service could eliminate those annoying seat mates who yammer on for your entire trip. At least in theory, anyway.
The modern service allows fliers to hook their public Facebook profile up with the seat map for the flight. The idea is that you can then have a look through the other passenger's social media profiles and pick the person you think is least annoying. Passengers also have the option of sharing their flight details with friends through Facebook. This is an interesting way to combine customer convenience and social networking.
