Architecture studio Morphosis works together with local firm GFF on the Crow Museum of Asian Art design with a balanced structure. It is defined by its large beams and patterned cladding along with precast concrete materials located in Dallas, Texas. This is a part of the first phase of the O-Donnell Athenaeum, which is an arts campus for the University of Texas in Dallas.
It speads across two levels with the gallery space mainly found on the upper floor. Arne Emerson, principal at Morphosis explains that lifting the exterior creates a more welcoming look, similar to an embrace. "By lifting the building up and putting all the galleries on the second floor and creating these covered exterior spaces that essentially become the circulation of the building itself."
