Architecture firm Chybik + Kristof unveils a look at its plans to build the Spring Dales Public School in Mulbekh, India. The space is defined by its timber and rammed-earth construction that will bring attention to an outdoor classroom with shelter supported by fabric canopies. It is set to be in the mountain areas of the Ladakh region with collaborative efforts with the non-government organization Himalayan Patron as a cultural preservation area in the region.
The co-founder of the studio, Ondrej Chybik shares with Dezeen, "This school is the first stage in an ambitious campus masterplan to create characterful, high-quality and culturally sensitive spaces for the education of a new generation of children in the beautiful mountainous Ladhaki region. The climate, topography and a lack of transport have long been a barrier to local education, but a new climate-conscious design – refined with years of local tradition, paired with principles of modern physics – will ensure the longevity of Mulbekh for many years to come."
