Athens-based design studio Block 722 has created the Gundari Resort, which has recently opened. The design is crafted to reflect the Aegean village structures to bring forth an authentic connection between human-created spaces and nature itself. Set right by the cliffside, it overlooks the waterfront and the cluster of buildings that comprise the resort is made from locally sourced stone.
The interiors are also mainly integrated with marble, clay, and wood to retain a close nature theme with minimal aesthetics. Notably, it is an eco-resort so the main goal is to frame the space and facilitate outdoor experiences as well. A lot of the material including the gravel along the pathways was recycled from nearby areas.
