Coca-Cola has announced a new commitment to make all Coca-Cola products 100% recyclable by 2025. In addition to this, Coca-Cola will incorporate at least 50% recycled, post-consumer materials into its product line by 2030. In order to achieve these levels of sustainability, the company has been testing a variety of approaches, such as using clear bottles for its Sprite products, creating label-free bottles, and looking into recyclable materials.
The brand has also noted that customers respond well to its packaging innovations as profits increase when the company launches more sustainable bottles. For example, Coca-Cola has experimented with refillable 'Universal Bottles' which smoothened recycling operations due to the consistency across its brands, such as Sprite and Fanta. Coca-Cola has note yet decided upon which packaging solution will become its normal as it experiments with different innovations across the global market.
