Palma Designs the New Chiripa Housing Complex in Mexico
Amy Duong — January 17, 2023 — Art & Design
Architecture studio Palma introduces its new design in the form of the Chiripa housing complex that is located in Mexico. It is designed with leading elements of off-white stucco walls and a dynamically round staircase. The space is a hybrid experiment that blends together the functions of residential space and hotel-style living.
It is made up of two geometric volumes that connect by a stacked bridge and separates into six living units. The aforementioned off-white stucco is contrasted by the bright blue colors that make up the flooring, window frames, and doors. Palma states that "The implementation of stucco on the walls, in an off-white tone, serves as a backdrop for the shadows cast by the vegetation growing in the different green areas of the complex."
