Cathead Distillery is launching the ‘Tintype Old Soul Bourbon, Series 1’ in cooperation with the Music Maker Foundation and its mission to nurture the roots of American music. The bottle features a tintype photograph of Captain Luke Mayer, a blues vocalist from the mid-1900s, to honor his legacy and work with the Music Maker Relief Foundation in the 1990s. With a high-rye mash recipe of 75% corn, 21% rye, and 4% malted barley, ‘Tintype Old Soul Bourbon’ is produced in Indiana and matured on-site at the distillery's Jackson, Mississippi, location.
“In its singular excellence and depth of character, this bourbon honors the legacy of my dear friend Captain Luke and his music,” said Timothy Duffy, Co-Founder of the Music Maker Foundation.
‘Tintype Old Soul Bourbon’ offers a subtle introduction of creamy vanilla that gives way to mid-palate nuances of hazelnut, leather, and pepper before finishing with flavors of spicy black chocolate.
