The Bourse de Commerce building is located in Paris, France. The structure is a historic 18th-century stock exchange building and it recently opened its doors for people to enjoy, following “a major three-year transformation project commissioned by François Pinault—a French businessman and founder of luxury group Kering.
The restoration and redesign of the Bourse de Commerce building was completed by Japanese architect Tadao Ando who employed various innovative uses of material to deliver a striking and classic experience. One of the new additions is “a nine-meter-tall cylindrical concrete wall placed within its rotunda.” Part of François Pinault’s motivation for restoring and opening up the Bourse de Commerce building was a major collection of some 5,000 artworks that needed a space to be displayed and enjoyed.
