Peruvian architects Roman Bauer Arquitectos and ESArquitectos join heads to work on the Instituto Francés de Estudios Andinos. It is a cultural building in Lima that is elevated with a new renovation and other buildings with the overarching theme of a pink accent.
The Instituto Francés de Estudios Andinos was first finished in 2022 and features two structures that rest on a narrow property. There is a small entry courtyard along the street edge and the interior is made to host four workspaces, a cafeteria, a kitchenette, and a bookstore. ESArquitectura and Oman Bauer Arquitectos explains to Dezeen that "The project establishes formal relationships with the built heritage while emphasizing the intangible heritage – the knowledge and construction techniques perfected since pre-Hispanic times, disrupted by modernity to the point of near-extinction."
