Sean Griffiths Adds a New Roof to the Blue House
Amy Duong — December 20, 2022 — Art & Design
Architect Sean Griffiths introduces a new pebbledash-covered rooftop studio extension to the Blue House that he designed two decades ago as a part of the architectural studio FAT. It boasts the look of a shed and as a part of the new extension, there is a separate flat and office for landscape architect Lynn Kinnear's studio.
Griffiths talks to Dezeen about the new space, stating that "The project was very much a piece of unfinished business. The house was originally conceived as a four-story building with a roof terrace. A combination of limited budget and the planners' refusal, back in the day, to countenance a four-story building meant it couldn't happen 20 years ago when the house was first built."
