BKNR Arquitectura is set to build a habitable bridge in the Mexican resort town of Acapulco. The originally named Acapulco Bridge project will connect the two ends of the Acapulco Bay and provide new private residences and public spaces.
The Acapulco Bridge project will have 700,000 square feet of space when all of its parks, parking spaces, residences, bike paths, walkways and roadways are added up. The residential spaces of the bridge were a late addition as BKNR Arquitectura didn't have enough money to get the bridge built without soliciting funds from the private sector. Desperate acts or not, Acapulco's new bridge is set to be unlike any other in the world. The bridge does not have a set build date yet, which means I'll just have to go to Acapulco every year to check on its progress. The things I do for architecture.
