To celebrate senator Bernie Sanders' presidential campaign, Ben & Jerry's has released a special ice cream flavor called 'Bernie's Yearning.' As the 2016 presidential election ramps up, the new ice cream flavor puts a delicious twist on Sanders' campaign.
The new flavor was created by Ben & Jerry's co-founder Ben Cohen to honor Sanders' campaign. Although the new flavor is in keeping with the Ben & Jerry's brand, Bernie's Yearning is not an official flavor. Rather, the Independent Vermont senator's official presidential campaign put up the money to create the flavor and Cohen helped to produce it during volunteered time. Of the 40 pints produced, 25 were donated directly to the campaign. The other 25 are available to win through a contest on Sanders' campaign website.
