Living the Dream Brewing, a craft brewery based in Colorado, has launched a delicious new barrel-aged ale that offers a combination of old-school flavor profiles as well as more modern notes, making it a suitably complex and appropriate brew with which to kick off the New Year.
The Festivus Fireside Barrel Aged Olde Ale is initially brewed with uncrystallized syrup before then being aged for a period of over a year in bourbon barrels, giving it a bold and boozy flavor that's certainly reminiscent of old-world ales. The end result is a beverage that has hints of dark fruit and plenty of oak and bourbon notes.
With an ABV of 9 percent, this particular barrel-aged ale is both approachable and unabashedly boozy, making it the perfect beverage to sip indoors when it's cold and inhospitable out.
