VTN Architects, a world-renowned architecture firm located in Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam, has completed the creation of a spectacular bamboo building that is inspired by its surroundings.
The 'Casamia Community House' is designed to function as a community center for the region, and pays tribute to the local fauna with a design that is inspired by the Nipa variety of palm.
The structure of the building makes use of 22 bamboo columns that is topped off with a traditional thatched roof, making for a high ceiling and an airy space. Given the region's penchant for very windy conditions, this bamboo building has been constructed to resist wind and other challenging weather.
With its blend of rustic and modern aesthetic cues, comfortable interior space, eco-friendly virtues and durable structure, 'Casamia Community House' is truly a testament to the utility and beauty of bamboo as a building material.
