It could be argued that massive billboard ads visually clutter cities, but this anti-pollution billboard created by FCB Mayo Peru and Peruvian university UTEC does more good than harm in more ways than one.
Named the Air Orchard, this billboard is set up as a giant hydroponic system that's able to pull water from the air. Using 10 large-scale dehumidifiers, the billboard is able to produce over 2,800 heads of fresh organic green lettuce, which are given away on a weekly basis at no cost.
Since there are other areas of the world like Peru that are highly polluted, this makes a strong case for the kind of advertising that can do a double duty to make the world a better place.
