Starbuck's American Cherry Pie Frappuccino is Only Available in Japan

Starbucks Japan has just revealed the American Cherry Pie Frappuccino and the Internet is going crazy over it. The drink was created as an homage to one of the most American foods ever, cherry pie. As such the drink itself is part pie, with the plastic lid replaced in favor of a domed piece of piece. Drinkers must "dig into" the frappuccino in order to drink it.

Once their straw has pierced the crust they are greeted with cherry pie filling, little chunks of pie and of course whipped cream. The flavor of the frappuccino itself is vanilla, although that will likely literally get lost in the sauce. The American Cherry Pie Frappuccino will have a sale price of $5.80 and will be available from April 13th until May 16th. No word on if an American release is planned, but it seems like the American Cherry Pie Frappuccino would be a hit if sold stateside.
