alt foods is the name of a brand-new plant-based beverage startup that's introducing itself to the world with dairy-free drinks in original and chocolate varieties. Both of these products are made with sprouted sorghum, sprouted finger millets, amaranth and oats. The brand's launch was made possible thanks to support from Good Food Institute India (GFI India) and the goal of creating domestic food security and sustainable systems.
Co-founder Sweta Khandelwal says, "With exponential interest in plant-based diets, which is increasingly becoming evidence-driven, we are witnessing a huge shift in consumption where people have started to reject animal sources of food for plant-based sources instead. Our ‘m!lk’ is kinder to the environment, animals and to humans.”
alt foods also set itself apart as the first Asian plant-based dairy company to participate in the ProVeg Incubator accelerator program.
