Stelly Selway is an interior design studio based in both Austin and London and it presents the 44 East Avenue apartment, which is a minimally designed space based in Austin, Texas. It features two bedrooms, an outdoor patio, and two bathrooms. Overall, it has a functional residence and tranquil space for the owner, who works as a film producer. The team intricately selected the textures and colors that fill the space, with a focus on ensuring that there were ample storage solutions as well.
Selway explains “We ended this project sitting at a 100-year-old dining table with our client eating jelly beans from a vintage Japanese tea seat. She was sitting on top of the table laughing while she showed us her collection of fashion designs from the different films she’s worked on, and told us stories about the people who wore them. The most memorable thing was how the space allowed her to express herself freely and be a source of inspiration through this period of her life."
