Commemorating World Water Day 2012 with Innovation
Tiana Reid — March 22, 2012 — Social Good
Today, March 22, is World Water Day 2012. Hosted primarily by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, it's a campaign that supports global water and food security.
As the world becomes more and more populated, it is getting increasingly difficult to feed the 7 billion people currently on the globe. Of course, population growth is a threat to world security, but according to the UN, there are already a billion people who live in chronic hunger.
World Water Day 2012 pushes to educate people on how to reduce one's individual water footprint so get involved in whatever way you feel will make the most impact.
