From Heavenly Accessories to Flower Goddesses

Crowns have held a powerful and politically significant status throughout history. To wear a crown meant that you were in charge, others revered you and your enemies feared you. Nowadays, this meaning has changed significantly and crowns (in the traditional sense) are often associated with sovereignty issues and political turbulence. Or else they are connected to Queen Elizabeth II and her offspring who are less politically powered than once were and thus a friendly reminder of times past.
The modern crown has changed to be a fashionable accessory made of sharp metals, delicate flowers or soft linens. Modern crown depictions are of an entirely new generation who has taken the traditional and run with it. Gone are the days when the crown signified power and in come the times when it is simply a beautiful fashion accessory.
