Celebrate Kurt Cobain Day in Carless Style with Grunge Worthy Attire
Janelle Savel — February 20, 2014 — Fashion
February 20th marks Kurt Cobain Day in Washington. It has been twenty years since this rock legend passed away, and today would have been his 47th birthday.
Cobain inspired many artist through his expressive lyrics and heavy instruments. He gave the youth of the 90s a sense of bravery during their growing years. Along with monumental song writing, Kurt Cobain also set fashion trends of the 90s, most of which are still prominent in today's culture.
The grunge era was a time to be expressive and unapologetic. Girls were growing their hair and bleaching it, only to change hues and infuse their locks with bright funky colors. People were wearing plaid, tie dye and combat boots and strutting around with their cassette players. Needless to say, it was a good time to be young.
