From Cactus-Shaped Lighting to Rainbow-Inspired Lofts
Riley von Niessen — July 29, 2017 — Art & Design
These July 2017 home trends feature everything from unconventional light fixtures to imaginative laundry detergents.
An example of the former is Mentsen's Rigatoni Series, which draws inspiration from the popular pasta silhouette that it's named after. Although the shape of the lamps themselves are similar to the cylindrical pasta noodles, each fixture is decorated with a series of vertical lines, and some are colored a deep hue of blue. In order to maintain the minimalist aesthetic that's created by the simple shapes, Mentsen hangs the fixtures from thin ropes, making for subtle but modern home pieces that can be integrated into virtually any space.
Another idea that's included in these July 2017 home trends are the bespoke bike racks that were created by Colombo and Serboli Architecture. Perfect for small apartments, the racks look like a series of decorative bars, making for a sleek storage alternative that's perfect for urban cyclists.
