From Odorless Activewear to Silver-Infused Shirts
Laura McQuarrie — August 21, 2019 — Fashion
To help a growing number of environmentally minded consumers take back more space in their closets and do fewer loads of laundry, sustainable brands are launching anti-odor apparel that can go for numerous weeks without washing. Some of these inventive, eco-friendly brands include Unbound Merino, Wool & Prince and its sister brand Wool&—which makes dresses that can be worn, unwashed, for 100 days.
While some of these water-saving designs are infused with bacteria-killing silver and copper, others are treated with different anti-odor finishes. The seaweed fiber t-shirts by Pangaia, for example, are treated with peppermint oil to boost freshness.
These long-lasting designs challenge the norms of fast fashion and help to minimize the carbon footprint of clothing that doesn't actually warrant being washed.
