Many women know and use Pinterest as a source for finding inspiration for wedding footwear, cakes, dresses, decor and more. One statistic reports that 70% of women on the social media platform create inspiration boards for their dream wedding even before they are engaged.
In order to interact with brides on the social network, footwear retailer Aldo created a contest on Pinterest called 'Inspired by I Do,' to give a bride's entire party the chance to win footwear and accessories from the brand.
Aldo enlisted the help of three influencers of Pinterest to create inspirational wedding boards and encouraged brides and grooms to do the same. To be eligible, a minimum of five items from Aldo needed to be pinned to the inspirational wedding-themed Pinterest boards.
