Architect Terunobu Fujimori built this flower-encased treehouse specifically for Japan's Kiyoharu Shirakaba Museum. Fitting with the floral theme was Fujimori's use of a singular cypress trunk to support the structure, making the miniature home appear as if it has sprung from the ground.
This remarkable architectural feat was designed specifically for the enjoyment of cherry blossoms which have encased the small dwelling. Interestingly, while the treehouse appears enchanted and magical from the outside, sturdy wood panelling and circular windows have made the interior quite practical, adding as aspect of sensibility to the artistic project.
Fitting with this Terunobu undertaking is his portfolio. In the past, he has worked with similarly environmentally-oriented designs by incorporating stone and pine into his pieces.
