Petaluma's Senior Dog Food Formula Includes Age-Defying Nutrients

US dog nutrition brand Petaluma newly launched its first senior dog food formula and it specifically meets the needs of older dogs with a veterinarian-formulated recipe and "age-defying" nutrients. According to the brand, this is the first plant-based dog food of its kind that's specifically targeted toward senior dogs. "When our own dog entered his golden years, however, we noticed the plant-based category was lacking in options for seniors," said CEO and Co-Founder Garrett Wymore.

The pet-pleasing Baked Pumpkin & Peanut Butter Flavor is full of functional ingredients like applesauce and odor-fighting herbs, plus DHA omega-3 from algae oil, curcumin extract from turmeric and dietary fiber from pumpkin, as well as plant-based glucosamine.

As an alternative to dog foods that are marked as suitable for all life stages, this one is optimized for dogs' changing metabolic needs with the right levels of fat, fiber, vitamins, minerals and protein.
