The Résidence Poissonniers is markedly different to the neighbouring structures that tightly abut it, yet you can probably appreciate that there are many similarities too. The reason that this contemporary sliver of a structure does not stick out too much from its traditional-looking surroundings is because the architect modelled the proportions of this project on those of the old style.
MAAST created the distinctive tripartite structure with the entry at the base, the mansard-inspired sloped roof and the fenestrated facade making up the middle. The seven floors of flats have windows facing the garden at the back and the street at the front, with the latter looking particularly intriguing. The white Corian cladding has been used to create shutters that slide open and closed to establish degrees of impenetrability and exposure.
