Cutwork, a Paris-based architecture studio, and French developer Bouygues Immobilier are redesigned the way we live and work with the PolyRoom prototype prefab unit. The unit is currently on display in Paris until the end of the month before it launches across France next year.
The companies are working to reinvent and simplify the living spaces. Each prefabricated module is designed to stack like LEGO bricks. This would form a residential building in less time than the conventional building process. Bouygues Immobilier plans to open 15 sites by 2025. Overall, the sites would include 2,500 PolyRoom bedrooms. Cutwork architect Antonin Yuji Maeno turned towards the Japanese concept washitsu for inspiration to create the PolyRoom modules.
