La Planta Reposado Tequila Alternative is Made with Button Mushrooms

Using the same techniques used to perfect IPAs, porters and blonde ales, Bravus Brewing Co. founder Philip Brandes launched La Planta Reposado Tequila Alternative under Phil & Goode.

Thanks to a proprietary manufacturing process, alcohol is kept under 0.5% ABV. This premium, non-alcoholic agave spirit is made with high-quality ingredients like oak, filtered water, natural tequila flavor and white button mushroom fiber extract, which serves as both a natural preservative and a functional ingredient.

"It’s pretty amazing how close to the real thing La Planta tastes," Brandes shared in a press release, "Whereas other tequila alternatives have to be mixed in a cocktail, La Planta is right at home neat or over ice with a twist of lime."
