Bernardo Bustamante Arquitectos architectural firm designed a Quito-based home by combining eucalyptus and concrete for a textured facade. The house is made from board-formed concrete. Its exterior walls are imprinted with eucalyptus planks for a unique design.
The Ecuadorian home is low-slung and located on a corner lot in the Tumbaco neighborhood. Local bylaws prohibited the construction of a fence or other obstructions. Therefore, for additional privacy, the firm created the 350 square meter home with a monolithic concrete exterior and selective punched openings in the bedrooms. The home boasts an L-shaped layout with a rounded corner to match the street's outline. Complete with three bedrooms and a home office, the house's communal spaces are cluster in the perpendicular volume of the house.
