Buskey Cider, which has become one of the foremost purveyors of ciders ever since it was founded in Virginia in 2016, has launched a truly delectable premium cider that uses a carefully selected blend of apple varieties to pay homage to the state of Virginia.
The '2022 Buskey Heritage Blend Cider' is an off-dry offering that uses Gold Rush, Ashmead's Kernel and Ruby Red Crab apples, all of which are proud products of Virginia. This particular cider is available in four-packs of 16-ounce cans as part of Buskey Cider's policy of dropping a new release on alternate Fridays.
The cidery's founder Will Correll says that the decision to include Ruby Red Crab Apple alongside Buskey's more commonly-used Gold Rush and Ashmead's Kernel varieties was a fruitful one. 'The simplicity of three old apples fermented to off-dry may not sound revolutionary, but that’s one of the things that is so special about our approach to cider,' Correll said.
