New York-based love birds looking to tie the knot responsibly can now do so thanks to the legalization of online Marriages, which allow for couples to obtain legal marriage licenses via video conference.
New York's Governor announced the exciting change in a tweet which said "I am issuing an Executive Order allowing New Yorkers to obtain a marriage license remotely and allowing clerks to perform ceremonies via video conference." So long as the video conferencing tool allows for live interaction between the couple, a witness and the officiant, meaning pre-recorded videos are not admissible, couples can get married and obtain licenses through this digital medium.
Other states to follow suit include Ohio and Colorado.
