Norman Foster of Foster & Partners have been working on the redesign of one of the most famous old New York buildings to tower between 55th and 56th Street. This 55-year-old white brick office tower will be redesigned into an architectural wonder by the same architect that planned the 2 World Trade Center and Hearts Tower.
A preliminary design of 425 Park Avenue shows Foster’s architectural style and structural panache. His work is very distinct and can be seen in many of his other works (for example, the diamond- shaped peaks of the 2 World Trade Center). Foster was chosen among many internationally renowned architects such as Rem Koolhaas (OMA), Richard Rogers ( Rogers Stirk Harbour & Partners) and Zahe Hadid ( Zaha Hadid Architects). Reconstruction and redesign of 425 Park Avenue will begin in 2015.
