Egan's Senses Collection Takes Cues from Five Foundational Flavors

The five foundational flavors—sweet, sour, salty, bitter and umami—inspired Egan's Senses, an exclusive collection of whiskey that explores each one in depth.

For this experimental exploration in whiskey, Egan's teamed up with Damien Grey, the chef and founder of Dublin’s Liath Restaurant. Each set includes five bottles of single malt, a sample box of 40ml vials and cards that divulge how the whiskey was developed. Additionally, the set includes access to a complimentary table for two at Liath Restaurant, plus membership to Liath Restaurant’s concierge booking service.

To showcase each different taste, a specific cask finish was selected. While the bitter expression used a recharred cask that previously held Imperial Stout brewed by Dot Brew, the salt bottling used barrels from Godet Cognac that get their character from the humid, salty air of the Atlantic Ocean.
