Digitalized 3D Dresses

The Dita Von Teese 3D Dress was Created Specially for the Model

This Dita Von Teese 3D printed dress was specially designed for the curvaceous pin-up model. The other-worldly dress looks like something from a futuristic sci-fi movie set in another dimension. It was dreamed up by New York designer Michael Schmidt and architect Francis Bitonti in a collaboration with 3D print specialists Shapeways.

The creation is the world’s first fully articulated 3D printed dress. Assembled from 17 separate pieces, the opulent gown is lavished with 13,000 Swarovski crystals. The dress is made up of individual, interlocking joints, allowing the piece to have incredible movement. Personally, I can’t think of a more commanding figure than Dita Von Tesse to showcase such a fashion-forward design.
