How cool would it be to live in an apartment building that has its own rock climbing wall? If you are lucky enough to live in the Netherlands (not exactly famous for its mountains) and attend the University of Twente, you could have the chance.
The new building by Arons and Gelauff Architects may appear to be somewhat of a utilitarian structure in its overall appearance, but it has something that makes it a trendy place to live. The nine-story, 87-apartment building has one whole side of the building equipped with a complex rock wall, just for climbing. Set up with 2500 grips, it is a great asset to the school’s mountaineering club.
