LA's Baltaire Serves a Caviar Martini Inspired by James Bond

Los Angeles steakhouse Baltaire is now serving a caviar martini inspired by James Bond and created by bar manager August Mahoney.

The drink is said to takes cues from the classic Vesper, which can be found in Ian Fleming's 1953 book as a combination of gin, dry vermouth and vodka. The reinterpreted cocktail is made from Absolut Elyx, Sipsmith Gin, Cocchi Americano, Hennessey Master Blender's Selection No. 2 Cognac, cucumber and Petrossian Caviar that is is cubed and presented atop of the glass. In terms of taste, the caviar martini is said to be both creamy, herbaceous and sweet, rounded out by the saltiness of the caviar inclusion.

The caviar martini is only being sold for a limited time throughout the spring, with $2 from each $35 drink donated to Chefs Cycle in support of No Kid Hungry.
