American architecture studio Butler Armsden creates a Californian home that has no official entrance. "The entire complex is square in plan" and boasts a strategic arrangement of cedar-clad volumes that aim to accommodate both private living and communal events. The property can be accessed "through a covered walkway that leads to the outdoor space." From then on, each of the Californian home's modules has its own entrance.
Butler Armsden designs the layout of the residence to take advantage of the property's lush surroundings through a maximization of outdoor space. The house is situated in the Northern part of the country and its title — 'Valley of the Moon,' subtly references "the ancient name given by Native American tribes" to these parts of the valley.
