The American Girl doll series teaches girls important life lessons through each character. Chrissa, a new American Girl doll that will be released in 2009, is a spunky character who will help teach girls how to stand up to bullies.
As with all of the other American Girl dolls, Chrissa has two tie-in books to help drive home her character's theme. "Chrissa" and "Chrissa Stands Strong" are both written by Mary Casanova and focus on how Chrissa stands up for herself after moving to a new school, according to ParentDish.
There will also be a Chrissa-themed non-fiction book released by American Girl called "Stand Up for Yourself & Your Friends: Dealing with Bullies and Bossiness and Finding a Better Way. The book will provide tips, quizzes and true-to-life stories of other girls who have overcome bullying.
