58 Gin Distillery Made an Alcohol Hand Sanitizer for the Benevolent Ball

London's 58 Gin Distillery created an alcohol hand sanitizer for The Benevolent, as the charity struggled to find enough supply for its annual Benevolent Ball. To help people stay safe during the event at the Natural History Museum, the London-based distillery crafted 58 Gin Hand Gin-itizer using aloe vera and a high-strength distillate. According to Carmen O’Neal, managing director of 58 Gin Distillery, "We distil 1,000 litres of alcohol a week, so we could afford to spare some to create a Hand Gin-itizer."

A variety of distilleries and other businesses that have the facilities and resources to create alcohol-based hand sanitizers are now shifting their efforts to do so during the COVID-19 pandemic.
