The Zero House is Defined by its Warm Ambiance
Amy Duong — October 27, 2024 — Art & Design
The Zero House is a cozy home located in North London's Stanmore area and it is defined by its timber ceilings and a fireplace clad in mahogany tiling. The owners are recording artists Ben Garrett and Rae Morris who went on to renovate the space in honor of its mid-century heritage and celebrate the color palette inspired by Stanley Kubrick films.
Ben Garrett speaks about the previous estate, sharing with Dezeen that "The house was built between 1959 and 1961 by a Hungarian architect. It's a great example of a number of imaginative mid-century domestic houses dotted around metro-land. Our main aim was to freshen it up relatively in keeping with the time but not to feel like we were living in a total time capsule."
