Louis Vuitton Parfums is debuting three new fragrances as a part of its collaboration with Yayoi Kusama. The collaboration sees the perfumes ‘Spell on You,’ ‘L’Immensité,’ and ‘Attrape-Rêves’ transformed using Kusama’s signature polka dot pattern on the exterior packaging. To celebrate the launch of the perfumes, the duo has launched an exhibition at Lightwell Hall at M+, showcasing the legacy of the Japanese artist through themed decor and visuals.
Jing Pang displayed their ‘The Glamorous Turbulence,’ piece, while Hong Kong composer Fung Lam soothed the crowd with their rendition of ‘Listen to Kusama.’ Other performances by JVSY and moon.noon served as entertainment for the night.
“A polka-dot has the form of the sun, which is a symbol of the energy of the whole world and our living life, and also the form of the moon, which is calm. Round, soft, colorful, senseless and unknowing. Polka-dots become movement. Polka dots are a way to infinity,” Kusama was once quoted.
