Woodford Reserve has commissioned 96 Mint Julep cups that will sell for $1000 for one day in one place: the Kentucky Derby. The mint julep is the official drink of the derby and Woodford Reserve is taking it to another level by offering these cups to benefit disabled jockeys.
The sterling silver cup (mint juleps are served only in silver cups) is plated with 24 karat gold and engraved with the jockey silks representing the Woodford Reserve stables. Woodford Reserve also is offering a special commemorative bottle for this momentous horse racing extravaganza.
Additional Legends Cups will be auctioned off. These Legends Cups have three diamonds to represent each leg of the famed “Triple Crown” of horse racing. The cups are made by the same company that makes the official trophy for the winner of the Derby.
