This wooden holiday home, designed by Santiago-based architect Ignacio Correa, is sure to provide residents with a well-deserved rest from the dynamic and stressful urban landscape. The slanted structure is located in the rural area of Maitencillo. It embraces a clean and minimalist aesthetic that does not interfere with the lush natural surroundings. The wooden holiday home is skillfully “raised above [the] ground on diagonal posts.” This, in turn, maximizes the breathtaking vistas that can be observed through the glazed portions of the structure, allowing residents to enjoy the Pacific Ocean’s majesty in its entirety.
In addition, by tactfully elevating the familial residence, Ignacio Correa is able to optimize the light exposure of the interior. For the exterior, the architect uses locally sourced materials, which are treated to resist the unpredictable and salty climate of the region.
