Local design studio Norm Architects introduces a look at the Heatherhill Beach House, which is a wooden vacation home that is finished with a sedum roof. This is meant to 'change colors with the seasons' and the house is within the hills on the Danish coast. The interiors are detailed with wooden pillars for support and style, forming a linear structure.
The house also has a covered walkway and the structure itself is separated into two volumes. This is inspired by the traditional Danish barns that are remixed with a more modern approach. Architect Sophie Bak notes, “We started from the traditional barn typology. This traditional structure we then ‘pulled’ apart and moved around to create a space in-between serving as a nod to the traditional courtyard.”
