Wild-foraged agave and volcanic mountain water that's exclusive to the remote mountains of Oaxaca is what gives Tres Tribus its unique character as a small-batch, wild-foraged mezcal. This new artisanal mezcal is named after the three societies that came together from the surrounding valleys to create what is now called Oaxaca. Each one has its own characteristics and their fruity, floral and savory flavors come not just from the use of quality local ingredients but also a "unique process that brings earth, fire, water and air together."
Espadín Capon is the most refined of the single varietals and it is distilled from magueys that average between eight and 12 years old. With a flavor profile that includes cooked pineapple, figs, quince, cacao and jasmine, Tobalá won Gold in The International Wine and Spirits Competition 2023 Spirits Awards.
