Hyde + Hyde have designed the 'Cliff House,' a Welsh home featuring a cedar balcony that runs the same length as the facade.
The home offers spectacular views from its perch on the edge of a cliff, allowing its residents the opportunity to look onto the Welsh shoreline; specifically, where the Bristol Channel and the Atlantic Ocean meet. In order to optimize for the coastal scenery, the architects situated the living space on the second floor. Meanwhile, the dining room and kitchen stick to the traditional ground floor, where the south-west balcony can be accessed through floor-to-ceiling glazed sliding.
In order to ensure the home is as energy-efficient as it is atmospheric, the architects used insulated concrete formwork.
