Wasbar Lets You Get a Haircut and a Drink While Your Clothes are Cleaned
Michael Hines — February 18, 2013 — Lifestyle
Wasbar is a laundromat in the Belgian city of Ghent that aims to make cleaning clothes less of a chore. The unique shop is actually three businesses in one: it features a bar, washers and dryers and two hairdressing stations. The idea is that you can have a drink (or two, depending on how much laundry you're doing) or get your hair done while your clothes are being washed and dried, thus making the entire process decidedly less boring.
The Belgian design studio Pinkeye is behind the Wasbar. Pinkeye wanted Wasbar to not look like a regular laundromat and they succeeded. The pipes on the machines are concealed and the decor is purposefully made to look as if it was randomly thrown together. Pinkeye plans to bring its Wasbar design to other Belgian cities.
